So I know this isn't a called for blog post, but I was just praying about the trip with some friends tonight and the Lord just really gave me some words that I want to share with yall as we now have one week until we meet and continue our journey in Uganda.
The message is pretty simple so I won't add impecable vocabulary and theologically fancy statements. The basic idea is simple- love. I think that we all know this or we wouldn't be going, but I think it is really important that we remember love. One of the things me and my friends say after we have the chance to help feed the hungry, clothe the naked, pray for and visit the sick, when they say thank you we respond with "this is love." and that in turn opens the door of conversation-most the time.
The reality of our trip is that we have an incredible chance to take the Love (that both is Christ and is because of Christ) that we know and experience here in the US (or canada lol) and go walk in it outside our normal circumstance and normal sphere of influence to this place that longs for and desires love. We have so much to give.
So, team kyampisi, team victory outreach, team leaders, and trip leaders- I am excited and thrilled to have this chance to walk in the name of and for the sake of Love. I cannot wait to live in your community of faith for the allotted time and see how the Lord uses us and how much glory He will get this summer.
