“Why are you going to Uganda?” is a question I have been asked often lately.I usually just spit up an answer about spreading God’s love, working with churches and schools, and strengthening my relationship with Christ. While I am going for all these reasons, there is an answer much deeper than that.
I like to comfortable, I usually know exactly what I will be doing every hour of every day. Tonight, I will curl up on my bed and take some alone time to read, this is comforting. Going out of my comfort zone can exhausting and puts me in a place where the only constant is God. Being comfortable every hour of every day does not help me to actively pursue God or put me in situations that I am able to share the Gospel. So, this summer, I will spend my time out of my comfort zone and make God the only constant in my life. I am excited to be in a position that I HAVE to rely on Him. I am excited to be in a position that will push me to spread His love and His Word to people who have never heard the Truth. As for why Uganda specifically, God just really has put Africa on my heart the past year or so, and what a great place to strengthen my relationship with my First Love.
