Hello!
My name is Alysha Fox and I am currently living in Salem, Oregon. I am a freshman at Corban University and majoring in elementary education. As much as I love Salem; I love my home town of Olympia, Washington MUCH more. Yes, I am one of those losers without a job mooching off my folks, but I do work at a day camp during the summer which is amazing! I absolutely love being with little kids...which is the obvious reason I am an elementary ed major, of course. I have three brothers, one who went to Kenya this past year with AIM. I also have two adoring parents who think I, their only daughter, is more work than their three sons.
So, what now... My hobbies! I absolutely LOVE playing basketball, volleyball, and golf, but after playing four years in high school, I decided to take a break in college. Right now I am playing intramural basketball and volleyball so I am not going completely insane just yet. I am a super outgoing, people-friendly person so I have a big group of friends and love doing crazy things with them. I enjoy making funny dance videos with my best friend and doing creative craft projects and scrap-booking...when I have time. I am a food freak so anything edible, I will eat. Not to mention, I am a sucker for anything on the dessert table. mmm...mmm...good. Lastly, I LOVE techno music! Playing ping pong, going on roller coasters, going camping, taking long walks on the beach..... just kidding!
The beach is amazing though. Pretty much, anything adventurous, I’m up for!
These things make up a big part of my life, but Christ is my ultimate purpose for going on this trip to Uganda. He has been doing lots of changes in my life and I am excited to see how he is going to use me when the trip roles around. Last year I went on a missions trip to Poland with my youth group which spurred my thoughts about missions and made me even more eager to go on this one. Everyday he is showing me his gracious love that can overcome all the stresses of college and life and I am more than ready to share this with the people of Africa. I pray that Christ will allow me to use the gifts he has given me to not only be a light to those around me at school, but also to everyone I come in contact with in Uganda. I am also praying for all of my team mates going with me and for God to prepare the people for when we finally arrive. I know I will love all of you and I am excited to get to know you! I hope that people at home will continually pray that the trip will go smoothly and that God will do wonders throughout the two months we are there. Sorry, this sounds like I am writing on an online dating sight, but I really am passionate about serving my Lord and Savior!
