Hello everyone!
I want to confess to you all that I feel extremely technologically dumb right now. I could not figure out how to blog for the longest time until I looked at an old post that told me exactly what I needed to do.
So, now that you all are probably naming me the intelligent one of the team, let me tell you a little about myself.
My name is Brennen Finchum. I'm 19 years old and live in Franklin, TN (home of Miley Cyrus). I'm attending Trevecca Nazarene University where I'm studying Social Justice. This is quite significant because it was the university I always said I was never going to attend. I've grown up in the Nazarene church and wanted to break away from it (at least for a couple years), but God called me to be there. I never expected to learn so much about about myself, life in general, and my Abba. One truth I've learned: God is in every place and knows what he's doing.
I've played sports since I was a youngster: trying baseball and soccer, loving basketball and football, and even ran cross country to stay in shape one year. I took piano lessons for a couple years (because everyone in Nashville has to know how to play music... right?). I love reading, especially the C.S. Lewis/Francis Chan/Rob Bell/etc. type. I enjoy writing and keep a journal, yet this is my first time blogging.
I've been on two other overseas mission trips: one to Comas, Peru and the other to Potsdam, Germany. God has captivated my heart in these places, but I have some passion to be serve in more countries. I was wanting to find a summer-long trip this summer and God brought me to AIM and to Uganda. I'm so happy, ecstatic, elated, and honestly blessed to be going on this trip! I'm praying for you all and each person we will encounter in Africa.
One love,
Brennen
