Hello!! I'm Courtney Bonones (Buh-No-Nes) and yes I've had every nickname you could imagine.. Court, Courts, CB, Bonono, Bonner, Bozo, Banana, Nanners, Bones, Bon Ones, Bono... Take your pick! New ideas are welcome but I usually answer to Courtney?.... (akward pause)
I was born and raised in the lovely Rocket City, Huntsville AL.. Huntsvegas you might say. But I currently reside in good ole Jacksonville AL, yes I know you had no idea it even existed, I didnt either untill I decided to go to school here haha I am a Junior at Jacksonville State Univeristy, and in my second semester of Nursing school.
I used to work as a tour guide for the school but I had to stop once I got into the Nursing program :( I loved my job, but luckily I am an Ambassador for my school and I still get to give tours every once in a while. I am also in to process to become a Resident Assistant right now so I have my fingers crossed! I would love to be able to have a whole floor of girls to reach out and really try to pour my life into. It is such a good ministry opportunity and a chance to push myself to be more of a leader.
I love to swim, I try to do a mile about 3 times a week for exercise. I danced for about 10ish years growing up and I miss it a lot! I also really like to read, but I havent been able to do much since I started nursing school. Trying to stay in the word is hard enough with all these tests! I love my friends very much and really enjoy our campus ministry here at school (Camous Outreach). I love doing really creative stuff, painting, making unique art projects. and although Im an "adult" I love to just goof off and be silly.. so Im warning you all now haha
I LIKE: The Life My God Gave Me. The Color Red. Pocohontas. Singing. Disney Channel. My family. Traveling. Capitalizing Things That Thouldnt Be. Pianos. Snail Mail. Old Quilts. Glee. Birds. Pretzels and String Cheese. Conversation Hearts. Stained Glass. Nature. Being Weird/Akward..... oh lord there's so much more!
I DONT LIKE: Christmas (Nothing to do with it). Cotton Balls. Ticks. Make-Up. Expensive Stuff. Vegetables.
I went to Ecuador 3 out of the 4 summers in high school with my youth group back home. I believe that it most definitely changed my perspective on the world and completely sparked my fire for missions. I also did a little bit of relief work in MS after Katrina. And last summer, although it was NOT a mission trip, I went to Summer Beach Project and my faith was totally shaken.. There is no possible way I can explain how much I grew there and since then, but it definitely changed my life and is the only reason I had the desire to go off again this summer. Im sure yall will hear plenty about it on the trip though..
I am SO unbelievably pumped for Uganda! I cannot wait to see the beautiful country and meet the people and precious children that we will spend our whole summer with. I am mostly excited for the changes I will go through, and the impact we could possibly make on the communities we will be in all for the name of our Father! The biggest thing I am worried about is the food.. It is definitely going to be one of the biggest challanges for me but I know I will get through it. Just the process of getting this far has made me trust in the Lord so much more than I ever have.
I know I get carried away.. this is probably entirely too long, but I just wanna say Good Luck to everyone still raising support and I cant wait to meet everyone!!!
